All volunteers must be at least 18 years old or volunteer on the same day as a parent or guardian and have written permission from that parent or guardian to volunteer. 

Volunteer Benefits

One 4-hour shift = Day Pass for the day on which you are volunteering (this does not include admission to the Time Traveler’s Masquerade or Dark Carnevale evening events)

Two 4-hour shifts = Weekend Day Pass (includes admission to all three days of the event, but does not include admission to the Time Traveler’s Masquerade or Dark Carnevale evening events)

Three or more 4-hour shifts* = Weekend Passport (includes Weekend Day Pass plus admission to both the Time Traveler’s Masquerade and Dark Carnevale evening events)

*Please Note that if you sign up and participate in both Load-In / Setup AND Takedown / Load-Out, you will qualify for a Weekend Passport

Volunteers are responsible for their own accommodations and meals.

Load-In & Setup

Thursday, March 16 – 5:00pm – 10:00pm

* Assist vendors in transporting merchandise and equipment from their vehicles to their booths, and assist vendors in setting up their booths. 

* Assist other MythicWorlds staff with general lifting, hauling, toting, organizing, sorting, go-fering, and other activities to set up the event. 

The best people for this job will have good initiative and self-motivation, be very friendly, be able to follow directions from a variety of different people with varying styles of communication and organization, and be able to be at least moderately physically active.   While it’s great if you have physical strength, stamina, and know-how to do “crafty” and “handy” things, those are not required qualities.  All help is welcome.

* Assist the coordinators and presenters for the Mythic Workshops.  This could range from serving as a guide to the location of the workshops, to directly assisting an artist with a craft activity. 

* Help MythicWorlds staff, volunteers, and presenters set up, run, and break down various lighting, sound, recording, computer, and other A/V systems.

* Assist with the organization and running of the Faerie Fashion Show, Costume Contest, and other panels and presentations as needed.  

* Serve as an all-purpose troubleshooter as needed. 

The best people for this job will have experience and skills with troubleshooting, jury-rigging, and problem solving, and be able to be flexible, adapt to challenges, stay calm, and work quickly when time is of the essence.  Good candidates will be familiar with some or more of the following: basic computer networking, lighting systems, sound systems, video/audio recording systems, and basic construction.  MythicWorlds runs primarily on Apple hardware and software, so familiarity with MacOS and iOS are very useful.  A background in theatre or event production would be ideal.

* Transport members of the MythicWorlds staff and crew and other personnel to and from the airport. 

* Assist MythicWorlds staff and volunteers with making supply runs when necessary. 

Having your own large vehicle (like a minivan or SUV) is helpful.  The best people for this job will be very familiar with the local area and traffic, have a lot of time to devote to the event, and will be able to be flexible and accommodating with shifting schedules.  If you are already volunteering and are looking for some other ways to be helpful, this is a great way!    

Vendor Coordinator Assistance
